LPIA Pademangan

LPIA, Lembaga Pendidikan Indonesia - Amerika, provides a variety of English course programs to Indonesian children, teenagers, and adults. Prospective students can choose any programs depending on the age, school levels, kinds of job, or positions in the office. The following are the 21 levels of LPIA General English programs, excluding the English for Specific Purposes (ESP), offered by the LPIA English to the public.

Pre-Foundation English 1, 2, 3

(Primary Grade 1, 2, 3)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to enrich and use the many vocabularies of the English language.
• able to introduce themselves, friends, parents, school, and things around them.
• able to answer many simple questions in English language.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 4 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.

Foundation English 1, 2, 3

(Primary Grade 4, 5, 6)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to make statements or sentences based on the vocabularies they have learned.
• able to introduce themselves and describe things at home, school, or around them.
• able to do simple dialogs (questions and answers) in English language.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 4 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.

(Pre-), (Mid-), Elementary English

(Senior High Grade 1)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to write simple essays about themselves, parents, friends, or other things.
• able to comprehend common reading articles written in English language.
• able to initiate dialogs of any topics without waiting for their teacher's directions.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 3 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.

(Pre-), (Mid-), Intermediate English

(Senior High Grade 2)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to write complete essays with correct grammar of things they are familiar with.
• able to comprehend books, magazines, newspapers written in English language.
• able to do any kinds of dialogs with the correct (or minimal mistakes of) grammar.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 3 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.

(Pre-), (Mid-), Advanced English

(Senior High Grade 3)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to make presentations based on the term paper thesis they have written.
• able to comprehend any kinds of English articles, either printed or digital version.
• able to do get involved in a forum or a group discussing many things in English.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 3 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.

English Conversation 1, 2, 3

(Senior, college students, or employees.)

Minimum Objectives that Must be Achieved:

• able to read any English articles and retell or discuss what they have just read.
• able to do simple correspondence, such as faxes or emails and discuss them later.
• able to get involved in business dialogs with their work partners in the office.

Duration of Each Level:

• Each level: 3 months (estimated).
• Each month: 8 sessions.
• Each week: 2 sessions.
• Regular Schedule (Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or Wednesday/Saturday).
• Each session: 90 minutes.
